Last Minute Gift Ideas

Hello Paper Crafting Friends :o)

Are you ready for Christmas? I am not! lol It's been a busy fall and therefore the holiday season has crept up on me. I still have 90 % of my shopping to do!
Oh well….no matter how far behind I feel every year I always, somehow pull it off by Christmas day. I'm sure you all feel the same way!

Anyways, this month's Close to My Heart's special features the brand new 2016 PLANNER. How cool is that????? This planner would make a fantastic gift for yourself or a friend or a mom…. :o)
I love day planners. I have always had a day planner to record my daily lists and my weekly/monthly appointments and activities. Even after I purchased my first iPhone I kept my day planner. I just love having my little binder with me, with all my coloured markers/pens and stickies. I'm kind of a geek that way

Here is the Close To My Heart Planner

This month Close To My Heart is offering a Planner Bundle. It includes The Binder, the 2016 Planner Pages and the roller stamp for $35.95. It's a fantastic deal and a savings of $6.75. You can purchase it HERE

Another great idea, especially for a girl or preteen is some Base & Bling. Older girls and preteens would love to make their own jewellery to wear or give to their BFF. :o)
Check out the selection HERE  These would make fun stocking stuffers!!

If you have any questions about Base & Bling do not hesitate to contact me. :o)

Just a reminder….the smaller Seasonal Expressions Idea Book will be expiring on December 31, 2015. So make sure you order the items from that idea book  before the cut off because those items will no longer be available starting January 1, 2016.

I will have a virtual gathering set up on my website so you can place an order. The order will be placed on December 9th 11:59pm, with shipping before Christmas Day.  If you do place an order on my virtual gathering your name will be placed in a draw to win a free stamp set. The stamp set is one from my stash. Also, make sure you look around while you shop, there are still lots of good deals under the "while supplies last" and "clearance"

Colours: Peacock, Whisper, Eggplant
Bitty Sparkles
Glitter Paper

I water-coloured the coffee mug using ink from my stamp pads. I started with very,VERY little water.
I always colour from the edge of the image towards the centre. This creates depth.
I water-coloured the lid with one of my grey water-coloured pencils. I lightly coloured the the edges of the image and then I used my watercolour brush with very, VERY little water on it to pull the water-colour towards the centre of the image.

I hope I have inspired you to create a few cards this week.
I was very busy in my scrapbook room this past weekend. It feels so good to be creating again. :o)
I will have a few more cards to share with you before the month is over.
Please stay tuned!

Have a scrappy, creative week!

Contact me if you have a friend who would appreciate a Close To My Heart Idea Book. I still have a few left.

November 2015

Hello :o)
There is a little bit of snow on the grass and Halloween is now a distant memory. On to the fun stuff….Christmas card making, gift buying and gift making. November is such a great month to dust off the sizzix machine and get those sleepy stamp sets inked up! I always feel inspired to create in November,  I'm certain it's because of the beautiful holiday paper, Christmas stamps, glitter galore, shimmering ribbon! lol  It's hard to say no to all those teasers. :o)

Close to My Heart has the most adorable Christmas Paper Packet this year. It's traditional in colour scheme but trendy, fresh and new. It's called White Pines.

The White Pines Paper Packet comes with 6-12x 12 Patterned Paper and 6 12x12 Cardstock Sheets. It features adorable festive trees, holly berries, snowflakes and more. The colours  are glacier, fern, cranberry, chocolate  and cashmere (which is quickly becoming my new favourite neutral).

Here is the Workshop on the Go kit you can purchase for making beautiful Holiday or Winter Themed scrapbooking layouts. Of course you won't be confined to layouts with this kit you can also create some beautiful cards and other paper crafts. It comes with a full paper packet, badge buttons, stamp set, and enamel gems. Adorable. The stamp set is also cricut compatible.  Everything in the kit matches perfectly.

The White Pines Paper collection also has a Workshop on the Go Card Making kit.  The kit comes with an adorable stamp set, 2 White Pines Patterned paper, 5 12x12 sheets of card stock, 15 white daisy card bases and envelopes, bitty sparkles, Fern thick twine and of course instructions to create 15 beautiful cards.

Of course you can use the kit and create your own cards. :o)
I did.

I made these two simple cards with the White Pines Workshop on the go Cardmaking Kit plus Fern, Cranberry and Cashmere stamp pads.

I also wanted to show you how easy it is to create cards using the Picture My Life Scrapbooking Programs. (CTMH version of Project Life)
I created a super cute and easy to create card using the White Pines Picture My Life Scrapbooking Program plus paper and card stock from the White Pines Paper Packet.

Here is my card. Isn't it adorable? I still scrapbook traditionally, but I love the little cards that come with the Picture my Life Scrapbooking program. They are great for creating cards and using on traditional layouts. The cards are also absolutely fabulous for journaling. :o)

I also added some thick Fern twine  and a strip of gold glitter paper. I used 3-D Foam tape to attach the pocket card. Isn't the owl adorable????

I have a few more Christmas/Holiday cards to share with you this month so please stay tuned. I also have a few more idea books and Holiday Inspiration booklets so if you know of anyone who would be interested in one please let me know and I can get one to that special person. :o)

Before I go I need to tell you about this month's CTMH campaign.

This is a great campaign to save big and get a big start on scrapbooking .
During the month of November purchase a My Legacy album bundle and receive a value pack of Memory Protectors FREE.
There are 10 BUNDLES to choose from. Check them out HERE
Each bundle includes either a 12x12 D Ring Album or 12x12 Post-bound album, 1 Paper Fundamentals Enchantment pack, 1 Fundamental stickers Enchantment pack, 1 Peacock Fundamental Assortment, and 3 sheets of White Daisy card stock. Click on each item for a detailed description.

It's a fantastic deal. Close to My Heart Albums are fantastic. I only use CTMH Albums, and the memory protectors are so durable and economical. I have only ever used CTMH protectors. You can choose top loading or side loading protectors. (side loading are my absolute favourite!) The keep the dust out and keep your layouts from sliding out the top.
The Paper Fundamental Packs come with 20 sheets of double sided heavy patterned paper. They are so fun to play. Each pack comes with the ten colours from either the Basics, Whimsy, Adventure or Enchantment colour families.

Anyways, that's it for today. :o)
Have a fantastic day!!

An Attempt at a come back :O)

I'm back :o)
I had taken a long break from blogging and paper crafting.  I needed to focus on taking care of my family. They needed me...I guess :o)
After a few years, I felt like I needed to get back to creating. I needed to get back in a consistent, regular way.
A scheduled way.
I really missed creating on a regular basis.

I decided  to rejoin Close To My Heart, as a consultant. I made a lot of good friends and met so many amazing people when I was a consultant, and I missed that.

I love Close to my Heart paper packets and stamps. Their products make scrapbooking easy, fun and quick.

Today I am sharing with you one of my favourite Close To My Heart paper packets, ZOE.
It's a great paper collection for cards, and scrapbooking. It can be used for masculine or feminine paper craft projects. The colours are adorable, fresh and trendy.
Zoe features grey as a neutral….I just love grey, it is so trendy right now. I just painted my main floor grey-LOVE it!

Zoe Paper Packet

A new CTMH product is Workshops On The Go. Each paper packet has a coordinating Workshop On The Go. It makes paper crafting easy…very easy. Everything matches. It's simply brilliant.
Each WOTG features a selected paper packet (6 sheets of 12x12 double sided patterned paper and 6 12x12 sheets of card stock-4 different colours) , a complete list of instructions for one 2 page layout, a D-size stamp set, a package of embellishments and a package of coordinating ribbon, twine or tape. It retails $35.50 cnd$. It's a total  bargain!

The Zoe workshop on the go comes with coral glitter adhesive tape. It's so pretty and so easy to apply to your paper project!
I made 2, two page layouts and a 6x6 card and I still have a few sheets of paper, lots of scraps,  embellishments and ribbon to make more cards and at least one more two page layout.

Using what I received in the kit I created the following projects. (in addition to the kit I used the following stamp pads: slate/sweet leaf/glacier/sorbet and I also used two stamps from the set Cricut Artiste Collection Birthday Cricut Collection on the layout)

A very simple 6x6 card

A Very Simple 12x12 Layout for my daughter's 20 Birthday. (yes, I have a 20 year old daughter!!! -Oh my!!)

I haven't blogged in a long time….so I apologize for the quality of the pictures. I'm having a hard time photographing my layout pages. :o) The colours are also not photographing the way I want them to. I know the colours are looking like they don't match…but in reality the colours all match perfectly together. The coral shimmer tape looks so pretty on that card-I'm in love with it.
Oh well….I'm sure an afternoon of googling will solve those issues. :o)

I also want to give a bit of advice to those of you wanting to get back into scrapbooking.
I have a lot of scrapbooking pages….. more than 12 albums FULL of scrapbook layouts. I have almost, completely, documented the last 11 years of our lives…give or take a few months here and there. I also have a few vacation albums and a couple of completed baby albums (I'm behind in that department)

I keep my scrapbooking simple. I usually don't do very much stamping on my pages and I keep my layouts simple. Tackling scrapbooking this way I am able to binge scrapbook 10-15 layouts or more over a weekend, when I'm feeling extra creative. If I feel like doing more on a layout I do, but I never pressure myself to create the perfect, "publish worthy" layout. It's about documenting our family story. The kids LOVE sitting in the living room looking through the albums I've created. They laugh and smile and reminisce. It's priceless. :o)

I almost always use kits. Kits that include matching paper/cardstock and embellishments. The CTMH Workshops on the Go are perfect. They have EVERYTHING (except for the stamp pads) you need to create adorable pages, quickly.

I also use the CTMH How To Books. Each of the four books contain dozens of beautiful, timeless layouts, complete with cutting instructions and samples pages. A lot of the new style scrapbooking is designed for only a few pictures….but these books are packed with layout designs for several different numbers of pictures. I still scrapbook many pics at a time. The designs are completely customizable as well. I have used these books for years. :o)

In addition to the CTMH How to Books I also use sketches for inspiration. I generally follow PageMaps for scrapbooking and Freshly Made Sketches for card making.

I think that's enough information for now. :o) Contact me with questions.
I hope I inspired you today. See you soon!
